http://www.reddit.com/r/pokemonwatchers/
A subreddit for posting fanart, requesting fanart, asking questions about fanart, all that.
To start it off I uploaded several hundred pictures that will blow your mind and I’m taking requests for what you want to see next.
This is my competitive team.
Jericho the Lanturn as my lead. He’s a fantastic staller and anti-lead, spreading confusion and paralysis wherever he goes.
Inferno the Arcanine as a brute force attacker. He creates his own Sunny Days for massively powerful fire, and can revenge quite well with Extremespeed.
Garlic the Breloom as my chief executive troll. Many people just quit the moment they see him; the online scene is afraid its massive power.
Leshrac the Flygon, my revenge killer. He’s straightforward and a bit bland, but necessary for such a wacky team to exist and still win.
X the Sigilyph. His operations are classified. He’s been known to sweep entire teams.
Vegeta the Dusknoir. He’s my tank. Any time there’s a situation that the others can’t handle, he very slowly kills. There’s not much you can do to him.
Fine, I’ll bite.
I’m surprised at the lack of Sawsbuck support. Maybe you’re holding out for plant types?
Stantler for me, then.
Take note: Some artists seem to think that the “cuter” their picture is, the better it is. This is also the opinion of many Tumblr users, it seems. The first picture is entirely serviceable, but the Sphinx is just sitting there, being adorable.
The second picture is too far in the other direction. “Alt Art” or “Realistic Pokemon” is a popular trend, and I couldn’t despise it more. Eventually it just stops looking like a pokemon.
The best way to draw a pokemon, seen in the third picture, is to make it “real”. Not realistic, there’s a difference. Tell a little story with your picture. What do Braviaries do? Do they behave like a real-world animal or are they more human-like? Can you draw the pokemon on-model or are you confident enough to stylize without sacrificing readability?
Please remember this when you are flooding my dashboard with diabete-inducing sugary sweet Riolus. (I’ll still save them, but dang people, I try for some variety.)
